UV Cured Coatings
Eliminate the need to finish in the shop, eliminate airborne toxins and
facilitate high volume finishing.
Pre-finished NOVA panels are used primarily on interior vertical surfaces,
such as cabinets, closets, fixtures and architectural interiors, particularly
where finish consistency across a large number of panels is important.
NOVA finishes may be applied to all panels manufactured by States
Industries. Available finishes include Clear, Translucent and Opaque.
Standard gloss levels are Satin (30-40% reflectivity), Medium (50-60%) and
High (70-80%). Custom gloss levels may be specified on volume orders.
Custom colors require a prototyping process. NOVA finishes include NOVA
PEAK, a set of stock color panels in popular species and NOVA LAB, a
specialty finish with extraordinary chemical resistance properties that is
SEFA certified for laboratory use. Recoatable topcoats are also available.
States NOVA finishes are 100% solid, modified epoxy acrylate that is cured
by ultraviolet light. They do not release any volatile organic compounds or
hazardous air pollutants in manufacturing or in use. These coatings are roll
applied in a flat line system that recycles excess finish, eliminating waste
and curing instantaneously. NOVA finishes comply with South Coast Air
Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1113 and contributes to
LEED IEQ 4.2: Low Emitting Materials-Paints and Coatings. Like all States
Industries' panels, NOVA products exceed CARB 93120.12.
UV Cured, Acrylated Epoxy, Polyester or Urethane coatings are ranked the
highest in performance among 13 types of finishes compared in the
Architectural Woodwork Standards. See, 2009 AWI, AWMAC, WIArchitectural
Woodwork Standards- 1st Edition, October 1, 2009.
